Windows 8 Consumer Preview FREE Download | How to Install in Virtual Machine
If you haven't already heard Microsoft has come out with their Consumer Preview of Windows 8 so the preview has a couple of requirements. If you are running on a PC make sure if you want to check it out you either 1) make a partition on your hard drive or 2) run the preview on a virtual machine. Some examples are VMware Fusion, Parallels, and VirtualBox (only free one) Make sure your Virtual Machine or PC itself has the following hardware:
1 GHz or faster processor
1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
