How To: Hide or Disable Speed Dial in Firefox

If you have guys noticed in Firefox's most recent update they have something called Speed Dial. Finally Mozilla has caught up with Google, Opera, and sadly Microsoft's precious baby -- Internet Explorer. Speed Dial for those of you that don't know is that feature when you open a new tab and those little squares (thumbnails) that show you your most visited sites.

Now for most of us you really don't want to remove it as much as you want to hide it and I'll show you two ways to remove it:

1st Method (Hide It): As you can you can from the image below you can just click on that 3x3 mini speed dial on the top right corner, as shown below.

2nd Method: (Disable It)
  1.      Open Firefox and type in about:config into the URL bar up at the top and hit enter/return
  2.      Check the box I'll be careful, I promise
  3.      Search for: browser.newtab.url
  4.      Double click it to bring up a small windows with a text box that should say about:newtab
  5.      Change to: about:blank
